The first 24 hours

Baby Todd has been on the Berlin Heart for about 24 hours. He has responded well to it, and is making very slow progress in baby steps. His liver and kidney functions are improving. We never thought we would be so excited for a wet diaper!
Dustin and I were encouraged by the doctor to take a break this afternoon and get out of the hospital. We took his advice and went out to get some fresh air. Going out for lunch didn't seem like a big deal, but boy did it make a difference. Dustin was finally able to get a haircut too. It's amazing how quickly we can take those little things for granted.
Overall, today has been a better day. We still have a long road ahead of us, and continue to pray for healing.

From Aunt Hannah,

Glad to hear Todd is making progress however slight it may be.

'When I think of the wisdom and scope of God's plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit. And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in you hearts as you trust in Him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understandit. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope. May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages.
Amen

Ephesians 3:14-21

Hope this touches you someway or another. It came to my heart and I thought I would share with you.

I send my love and prayers for you and your family. Please feel free to contact me if you need anything or just a little company at the hospital or away from it. I am merely a short train ride away from DE.

We have all learned that God will not give us more than we can handle. I know that you and Dustin are very special people to be given this very special child. We never know exactly why things come our way, but there is a reason that you are there and even though it may not be revealed to you in your lifetime, someday you will know why. I'm sure that your lives are a testimony to all that are watching you. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do for you on the homefront.

I check Baby's Journey everytime I walk past the computer during the day. Thanks for the constant updates, I'm sure that it is a stress reliever in itself and the fact that you are keeping everyone informed is a blessing and a testimony in itself.

We continue to pray for ALL of you!
